James S. Dorcely is the Founder and Managing Principal of Edgewood Capital Group, a Newark, NJ-based capital markets, business, and enterprise advisory firm. With over 20 years of experience and more than $5 billion in cumulative funded volume across institutional and private credit platforms, James has built a career structuring and closing complex business, commercial, multifamily, and residential real estate financings. His leadership career spans executive roles at JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, and TIAA Bank, where he managed large regional sales organizations, mentored high-performing teams, and built lasting relationships across the full spectrum of real estate finance.
Edgewood Capital Group provides small business owners and entrepreneurs with the hands-on advisory support they need to grow and succeed. Drawing on deep experience in credit analysis, financial underwriting, P&L management, and capital structuring, the firm offers a full suite of business support services — including marketing strategy, credit repair, financial projection preparation, accounting support, one-on-one business coaching, and AI implementation — each grounded in real-world capital markets experience and a deep commitment to the Newark business community.
